Since 1996 Ilja Bílek has been leading the glass studio at the Institute of Applied Arts and Design of the University J.E. Purkyne in Usti nad Labem (Czech Republic). Some of Ilja Bílek’s students presented their own objects during this exhibition.

At the International Exhibition for Glass Sculptures & Gardens in Münster 1998, Jan Fišar presented an installation of 33 glass objects. Floating bulbs and rising forms symbolize life’s origin, evolving toward the shore where they culminate in a double figure.

Young Czech Glass 1997
Nine young Czech glass artists are exhibiting more than 40 works at Glasgalerie Hittfeld, showcasing their creativity both inside and outside the gallery. All of these artists studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague, with some already receiving international awards and recognition.
