Born 1975 in the Czech RepublicThe breadth of Petr Stanický’s work reflects both his rich academic background and his distinctive artistic vision. Educated in the Czech Republic and the USA, he studied sculpture at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, and after four years of teaching sculpture there, he deepened his study of the human figure in a master’s program at the New York Academy of Art, where he also gained experience working on sculptural projects in Jeff Koons’ studio. His work is characterized by an abstract approach, compositional confidence, and formal clarity, yet also by a fragility inherent to the nature of glass. Although glass, with its specific properties, plays a key role in his art, working with glass is not his ultimate goal but rather a means of expression. Stanický uses glass as a construction material, guided by a refined sense for establishing a stable order of things.
The sculpture “Tilted Space” by renowned glass artist Petr Stanický was created in 2024. This artwork measures 60 × 60 × 10,5 cm.
