The source of inspiration for Markéta Šílená is glass itself. In her search for nature-like structures fused to form strict geometric shapes, she avoids highly polished aggressive surfaces or vivid colours, deliberately applying muted shades and matte surfaces in her mystical glass sculptures.
Marketa Šílena: “The inspirative source of my activity is glass itself. Searching for structures similar to nature merged into strict geometric forms by avoiding highly polished, aggressive surfaces or loud colours. I am interested in mysterious things, unsaid this remains unspoken til the end. I try to transform this by using dimmed shades and mat surfaces.”
