The “Rubikon” group of artists was established by the theorist Mgr. Ivo Kren in 1997. The group deliberately adopted this designation as the name of the River Rubikon is symbolic of courageous decisions. Accordingly, the artists are going new ways in their work.
The artist group Rubikon was formed around theorist Mgr. Ivo Křen. This union of renowned Czech glass artists: Bohumil Eliáš Jr., Jaroslav Matouš, Jan Exnar, Jaromír Rybák, and Marian Volráb. This exhibition offers visitors a unique insight into the world of Czech glass art, with each artist distinguished by a personal and individual artistic voice.
Czech glass artists receive a unique education, beginning with four years at one of the country’s Secondary Schools of Glassmaking, followed by six years at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague. Alongside their mastery of glass, they demonstrate exceptional skills in drawing and painting. Guest artists: Jiřina Žertová, Aleš Vašíček.
