The young artist Luba Bakičová graduated from the studio glass department of University Jan Evangelista Purkyně, Ústí nad Labem, that is headed by the internationally renowned glass artist Ilja Bílek. The central theme of her work is glass in sculptural art.

She focuses on the hidden characteristics of glass and uses a form of the designed experiment, to uncover and visualize them. At high temperatures she reveals the behavior of various types of glass and combines these with heat-resistant concrete, whereby she puts the stringency of the basic form in contrast to the elasticity of the molten glass. Her minimalistic sculptures appear to pause in the present, in order to enable the observer to perceive this particular moment and to ascertain the real, existential situation.
