This exhibition of contemporary Czech glass art was the first of this kind in the 27 years of its existence of Glasmuseum Rheinbach, a museum specialized in Northern Bohemian hollow glass. The exhibition was opened by the Czech ambassador, Mr. Jiri Grusa. Present were among others representatives of various museums, persons in public life as well as artists from the Czech and Slovakian Republic. The purpose of this one-day exhibition in the facilities of the Czech Embassy in Bonn was to draw attention to Czech glass art and to financially support the work of the Olga-Havel-foundation by possible sales. On the occasion of its fifth anniversary Glasgalerie Hittfeld donated the glass sculpture “The Nameless Woman” by Jan Fisar to the Hamburg Arts and Crafts Museum. This object was presented to the director of this museum, Prof. Wilhelm Hornbostel, during the opening of the exhibition.
