Alena Matĕjka

Born 1966 in the Czech Republic

Alena Matĕjka belongs to the young generation that is constantly searching for new methods in glass art. She likes to combine glass with other materials and creates her sculptures in glass as well as in stone and organic materials. Her huge installation »The Feast« was awarded with the Special Jury Award at Coburg Glass Prize 2014, Germany.

The Installation »Midnight Water« was created by glass artist Alena Matĕjka from Czech Republic. The sculpture was created in 2018.

Explore the “Artistic Couple Room” featuring works by Malvina Middleton and Josef Marek @josef_marek_fine_art, as well as sculptures by Jaroslav Wasserbauer @jaroslavwasserbauer and Petr Stanický @petr.stanicky, alongside many other artists waiting to be discovered on the third floor. Further highlights include large-scale installations by the exceptional artists Ivan Mareš @ivanmares_glass and iconic sculptor Gizela Šabóková @gizela_sabokova. On the second floor, you can journey through the special exhibition by glass artist Ivana Mašitová @ivana_masitova_glass_artist.
