Rony Plesl – Soul as Form

In this exciting exhibition art and design will meet on a very high level. When looking at the objects it becomes apparent that Rony Plesl takes advantage of the optics of the material glass, thereby balancing the form with the transparency of the material.

Rony Plesl emerged as a leading Czech glass artist and designer, acclaimed for his innovative fusion of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. He established a strong international presence and collaborated with renowned glass manufacturers such as Moser, Lasvit, and Sahm. His work demonstrated a profound respect for the historical and expressive potential of glass, aiming to tell stories through form and material. In 2008, he was appointed head of the Glass Studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM), where he actively mentored a new generation of glass artists, advocating for a synthesis of historical techniques and modern art approaches.
