Martin Velišek: Painted Glass / Drawings

Duration of the exhibition: Spring 2000 – Dear friends of Czech glass art, the 20th century was a period which was considerably marked by the material glass (e.g. architecture, science and technology). Considering this whole connection it is quite understandable that this material also found its artistic direction. The merit of the glass art’s development belongs among others especially to the Czech glass art.

Jaroslav Matouš: Glass Objects

Duration of the exhibition: October – December 1999 – Jaroslav Matous, born in 1941, studied at Prague School of Applied Arts in the glass studio of the famous Prof. Stanislav Libensky. During the 11 years since the foundation of Glasgalerie Hittfeld the friends of contemporary glass art have been able to look at the objects of many outstanding artists. However, most of these artists work with glass in the sculptural way which is typcial for the Czech glass scene. Therefore Jaroslav Matous’ techniques as a painter constitute quite a difference.

10 Years Glasgalerie Hittfeld (Part 2)

Duration of the exhibition: October – December 1998 – The recent works of the 65 year old artist Jan Fisar form the priority of this exhibition. Already in 1988 Jan Fisar showed his glass sculptures – together with Bohumil Eliás and Gizela Saboková – in Glass Gallery Hittfeld´s first exhibition. In the past 10 years he has constantly presented his work in the glass gallery, so that the visitors were able to continously follow the development of his artistic creation.

10 Years Glasgalerie Hittfeld (Part 1)

Duration of the exhibition: May – June 1998 – Dear friends of contemporary glass art, my glass gallery, which is solely specialized in Czech glass art and gained an international reputation in the meantime, will celebrate its 10th anniversary in autumn this year. During these 10 years I succeeded to awake the interest for this young art by presenting numerous works of the leading Czech glass artists to the broad public.

Young Czech Glass 1997

Duration of the exhibition: November – December 1997 – Nine young Czech glass artists exhibit their works in Glasgalerie Hittfeld. All of these young Czech glass artists studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague, whereby some of them already received international awards. The range of the more than 40 works, representing these artists, reaches from expressively painted hollow glass (Martin Velisek) to the traditional Czech technqiue of melted glass sculptures (Anna Matouskova).

75 Years jubilee for the Roubicek couple

Duration of the exhibition: October – November 1997 – Glass is their life on an important Jubilee for the Roubicek Couple. The fine art glassworkers, Miluse Roubickova and Rene Roubicek, have been linked to the events in this artistic profession for over fifty years. Together both of them, each in their own personal fashion, contributed in the creation of its mutable visage. After finishing his studies at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague, Rene Roubicek became a teacher at the Secondary School of Glass Applied Arts in Kamecky Senov (1945-1952).

Czech and German Glass Art

Duration of the exhibition: February – April 1997 – Since the foundation of her glass gallery, Eliska Stölting solely exhibited objects of Czech glass artists. However, as this relatively young art is still not very well known to the public, she has extended her concept a few years ago by presenting once a year an exhibition of Czech glass art together with the glass
art from another country.

Jan Fišar: Retrospective 1966-1997

Duration of the exhibition: February – April 1997 – The Czech glass artist Jan Fisar presented in Glasgalerie Hittfeld his glass sculptures out of three centuries. This is a retrospective which is certainly impressive in the young glass movement. Since 1988 – the year when Glasgalerie Hittfeld was founded – Jan Fisar has been regularly represented with his objects here, and visitors and interested people were able to follow his artistical development in Glasgalerie Hittfeld during these eight years.
