Searching for structures similar to nature merged into strict geometric forms by avoiding highly polished, aggressive surfaces or loud colours. I am interested in mysterious things, unsaid this remains unspoken til the end. I try to transform this by using dimmed shades and mat surfaces.”

Ilja Bilek and his glass studio

Duration of the exhibition: 15 September – 19 October 2002 – Since 1989 the artist Ilja Bilek has been regularly exhibiting his splendid glass sculptures at Glasgalerie Hittfeld. His sculptures stand out for their strict geometry as well as for their precise processing. Since 1996 Ilja Bilek has been leading the glass studio at the Institute of Applied Arts and Design of the Univercity J.E. Purkyne in Usti nad Labem (Czech Republic). Some of Ilja Bilek’s students presented their own objects during this exhibition.

Rony Plesl: Transparent / Translucent
